20 Best New Websites, August 2022.

Every month we like to inspire you with a collection of what has caught our eye on the web. This month we have a real variety pack for you because sometimes it’s hard to settle for just one flavor.

We have glossy luxury and stripped-back serenity, a healthy dose of grown-up restraint and an equally healthy dose of in-your-face attitude, some very different but equally effective ways of using color, and some interesting navigation ideas, plus just a pinch of humor.

Enjoy!

Duling Hall

Mid-century modern illustration and non-linear feeling navigation give this site for Duling Hall authentic charm.

Oxide

Oxide’s site is clean and clear, without being dull or lifeless. Technical details are provided in a user-friendly way, creating a reassuring sense of competence.

LolaVie

Those old enough to remember the Rachel’ haircut craze know this was bound to happen sooner or later: Jennifer Aniston has produced a haircare range, LolaVie. The site does a great job of balancing luxury, and green (no pun intended), aesthetics.

Studio PingPong Turns 1

This Year in Review microsite from Studio Ping Pong is fun and a great showcase of skills. The honesty and humility are very refreshing too.

Find Sanctuary

A stripped-back aesthetic and minimal text match perfectly with Find Sanctuary’s concept and its beautifully photographed featured cabin.

DS & Durga

DS & Durga have eschewed the standard flowers-and-pretty-models’ perfume branding for something more modern and bold. A quiz helps you choose your perfect match from the imaginatively named scents, and each product has its own playlist.

Barge 166

Barge 166 is a floating cellar for private cask owners. The site is a single page with a combination of vertical and horizontal scrolling that effectively breaks up the content.

Gran Chaco

Good use of color and saturation adds richness to this site for Gran Chaco rum.

Jono Pandolfi

The ease of use stands out on JonoPandolfi’s site. The shop by’ categories have been well thought out. Meanwhile, the visual style is simple but pleasing.

KIKK Festival

The 11th edition of the KIKK Festival will focus on empathy and connections through storytelling and dialogue and will inspire the colorful yet soothing illustrations here.

Travel World Escape

Travel World Escape makes excellent use of photography throughout its site, creating a sense of adventure and intimacy.

Barr Foundation 2020 – 22 Review

The softened contrast between background and text helps make this annual report from the Barr Foundation more personable. In addition, the torn paper’ effect around images is an excellent detail, allowing images to be placed together as a collage.

Builder PropTech

The colors zing in this site for Builder Online’s PropTech virtual conference.

Sixmorevodka Studio

Lots of attitude from graphic art studio SixMoreVodka. This style is tough to pull off, but this is a great example and will likely leave you smiling.

Early Adopters Hub

Friendly, clean navigation separating the two sides of the Early Adopters Hub service model makes this site easy to use. In addition, the on/off slide button is a nice little touch.

Mubasic

Mubasic is a catalog of music for children. The site is suitably colorful and characterful.

People Nerds

The People Nerds’ digital conference site keeps it simple, with enough color and illustration details to add personality, without feeling themed.

Das Salz

A modern feel with fresh colors and clean type make this site for Das Salz hotel enjoyable to browse.

Evozyne

Evozyne’s site is an excellent example of color coding to keep sections clear. Also, having the menu built into the hero text is a lovely touch.

Circular Cities Barometer

Bloomberg’s Circular Cities Barometer measures how well 25 cities are changing to a circular economy. There is a lot of reasonably complex information here, but it is intelligently broken down and well presented in a clear, user-friendly way.
